My parents moved multiple times, and only ever got rid of the kids' (our) stuff or lost the occasional box or two.
My Dad's book collection is ENORMOUS, my mom's VHS and CD collection is huge. Then there are a ton of clothes, some dating back to... the 1940s. And knick-knacks, and paintings, and kitchen stuff, and, and, and. :O
